I Used To Love H.E.R.

T-shirt design for my small collection of tees. The design is based off of the song, “I Used To Love H.E.R.,” by Common. The concept of the song involves a woman being used as a metaphor to represent the rise and fall of conscious/Afrocentric rap as well as the rise of West Coast Hip Hop and G-funk during the late 1980s and early 1990s. The acronym “H.E.R” is an abbreviation for “Hearing Every Rhyme” or “Hip Hop in its Essence is Real.”
